Blue Globe Thistle
Veitch's Blue Globe Thistle, echinops ritro, is widely considered the most attractive of all globe varieties, and if you've never grown Echniops before, this is your sign to give it a try! It's perfect for rock gardens, cottage gardens, waystations, and borders.
The globe-shaped thistle heads are about the size of a golf ball, and they'll add a beautiful contrast of colour and shape to your garden, including some visual interest in the winter.
Once the plant is established, it's highly drought tolerant, so it doesn't need frequent watering, and it’s resistant to practically all pests and diseases.
Over time, this plant will spread two ways: by dropping seeds and via underground roots. You'll be delighted to have chosen something so low maintenance and trouble-free!
