Daylilies, hemerocallis, are extremely easy to grow and require almost no maintenance once the plant is established. They are very popular perennials, which means they will come back again every year, larger and fuller than the year before. Daylily is a tough and adaptable plant which is great for beginners because it can survive many harsh conditions including air pollution, poor soil, etc. 
 
This plant is called a daylily because each flower only lasts one day. However, a mature plant will grow plenty of flowers, so each day you'll find new blooms have opened and old blooms have closed. Daylilies are perfect for the ends of driveways, mass landscaping, and along borders and walkways.
