New England Aster
New England Aster, symphyotrichum novae-angliae, is a beautiful purple Native wildflower that blooms in late summer and fall, adding rich visual interest to your garden throughout the harvest season. The flowers are highly beneficial to Native pollinators, as they are one of the last flowers to bloom and provide an extended food source as the weather cools down.
Note: Seeds require a cold period called stratification in order to germinate. For this reason, seeds are best sown outdoors in the fall.
