Joe Pye
Joe Pye Weed, or Spotted Joe Pye Weed, eutrochium maculatum, is a Native Canadian flower with dusty rose pink clusters that emerge in summer. Its long lasting blooms are a magnet for butterflies!
Standing up to 6 feet tall, Joe Pye Weed is a great landscaping solution for Native Canadian gardens. This plant will spread, so it's great for naturalizing a large area but it may overtake a small garden.
Note: Seeds require a cold period called stratification in order to germinate. For this reason, seeds are best sown outdoors in the fall.
