Foxglove Digitalis Excelsior Hybrid
Foxglove is a tall and stately plant with characteristic bell shaped blooms and precious speckly spots. If you're looking to attract hummingbirds, friendly bees, and other pollinators to your garden, foxglove is one of their favourites.
Foxglove is biennial, which means that plants establish and grow roots and leaves in the first year, then flower and produce seeds in the second year.
Growing to 1.5m tall, this cottage favourite self-seeds each fall, happily spreading future generations back into your garden.
Tip: for a continuous show, sow foxglove seeds in two consecutive years, so that you never have a gap in blooms. Colours include pink, rose, purple, cream, yellow and white.
