Crackerjack Marigold

Crackerjack def: A person or thing of marked ability or excellence

Crackerjack Marigolds are an extraordinary African variety which are taller and fuller than French Marigolds. They have large double-blooms and a pleasant spicy fragrance. Crackerjack Marigolds are annuals which bloom in late summer, developing slowly into bright and uplifting shades of orange and yellow.

In Mexico, Marigolds or Zempasuchitl, are the most recognizable flower associated with Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. The flowers are placed on graves during the festival and it is believed to lure souls back from the dead with their vibrant colors and powerful scents.

In India, Marigolds or genda phool, are referred to as the "herb of the sun," and they are an essential part of the Indian traditional wedding ceremony.

Growing your own marigolds is a fun and easy way to ensure that you have plenty on hand for your next event. To create a beautiful DIY garland, simply harvest the marigolds, cut off the stems, and thread the blossoms using a thick needle and fishing line.
